Twitter

So it all started while playing Uncharted 2. I noticed that it ha(d/s) a twitter setting in options so naturally being the probing techno-freak that I am I turned it on. Personally I think its rubbish, complete rubbish. It doesn’t update when its suppose to and it doesn’t do as its told but it did get me thinking about Twitter integration with websites. So after some messing about with some basic code and then some library theft (well its gnu so its not really theft) I’ve loaded up this…

It gets my friends statuses and shows them in a somewhat twitter-y style. This is just the beginning I’ve got plans for all kinds of crazy Web 2.0 stuff on the control panel when I’ve finished version 1.2 (we’re on 1.1, 1.0 was a huge failure). 1.1 is functional but not quite as good as I would like 1.2 should be fun. Its on the way :P

The Cat

Yes it starts off dull but it does go somewhere. That cat is seriously evil!

Wordpress Time Intervals

So that last post says it was published on christmas day. I actually published it at 11:30 PM on the 24th. It seems that wordpress only supports 1 hour time intervals. I.E. UTC + 8:00, UTC + 9:00, UTC + 10:00, Etc.

Well anyway. Its now christmas day, officially (12:16AM).  I’m still on Mobile Internet. I’m still unable to get through to my grandparents iiNet. My Internode connection still wont resync and the landline is making more noise than usual (HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!). Have a listen! (done with my video camera)

Tonights gonna be a…

BAD BAD FREEKING NIGHT.

So its (still) christmas eve. I presume due to undue load on the phone network that the broadband is just being generically sh*t.  My Internode broadband has been intermittent since about 9 AM. I’m presently without landline internet and am stuck using Vodafone Huchison Three (WOOH) Mobile internet. At least thats a positive. Vodafone and Three’s networks have finally merged.

iiNet are providing unlimited quota till 12 tomorrow night. This is a good thing as I have access to a iiNet connection, Unfortunatley I DONT. A) My internet is too slow to handle a remote desktop connection B) Their internet has been disconnected since 9:30 PM.

I have to say overall I’m impressed with the speed of this internet. I get 2 bars of HSDPA signal which gives me about 800 Kbps if I’m lucky simply because I’m surrounded by metal (and bluetooth sucks). It makes for a nice connection while out and about but indoors its generically slower than outdoors.

On a more happy note…

I saw Avatar for the seccond time tonight (in gold class this time :D ) and seriously… I’d see it another 3 times. You may not have noticed but I also went to the special preview event (20 mins of stoof) so I’ve been a little obsessed with Avatar since then.

So yeah. Go see it and Merry Christmas.
